Epson DX5050 Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson DX5050 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
Before resetting Epson DX5050
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson DX5050 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson DX5050. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson DX5050
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for DX5050 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson DX5050 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson DX5050.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson DX5050 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
Does Epson DX5050 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
