Canon MG5780 Ink Absorber Full Reset
The waste ink system in Canon MG5780 collects ink used during cleaning cycles. Once the estimated limit is reached, service mode and a compatible counter reset may be required.

The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MG5780 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG5780 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
