Canon GM2080 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
What stops Canon GM2080 from printing
An absorber message concerns both software and maintenance. The counter can be reset, while heavily saturated pads may still need cleaning or replacement.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon GM2080. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon GM2080
- Turn the printer off.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon GM2080 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon GM2080 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Connect Canon GM2080 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
