Canon GM2000 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon GM2000 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
What stops Canon GM2000 from printing
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon GM2000 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon GM2000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon GM2000
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon GM2000
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon GM2000 has entered service mode successfully.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon GM2000 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon GM2000 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon GM2000 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
What if my reset key was used during a failed attempt?
Correct the cause first, then use the new-key generator or contact support for assistance.
