Canon G3500 Ink Absorber Full Reset
If Canon G3500 displays an ink absorber full or service-required warning, the stored waste ink counter may have reached its limit. This guide covers service mode, USB preparation and the reset itself.
Why Canon G3500 reports an absorber error
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon G3500 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G3500. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G3500
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon G3500
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon G3500 has entered service mode successfully.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G3500 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G3500 is not detected
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
