Understanding the Epson XP-201 waste ink warning
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson XP-201 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-201. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-201 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-201 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-201.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-201 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-201; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
Does Epson XP-201 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
