Epson R230 Reset Waste Ink Counter

Understanding the Epson R230 waste ink warning
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson R230 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson R230. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Install the original driver

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson R230.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson R230 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Install the original Epson driver for R230; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
