Epson L1800 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson L1800 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
What the Epson L1800 service message means
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson L1800 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L1800. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson L1800
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for L1800 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson L1800 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L1800.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson L1800 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Install the original Epson driver for L1800; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson L1800 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
