Epson EP-801A Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson EP-801A records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
The counter behind the Epson EP-801A warning
The printer protects against possible ink overflow by monitoring an internal service counter. On Epson EP-801A, reaching the threshold can trigger an ink pad warning and block further jobs.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson EP-801A. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson EP-801A
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for EP-801A and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson EP-801A to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson EP-801A.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson EP-801A is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Install the original Epson driver for EP-801A; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
Can I reset Epson EP-801A over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
