Epson CX4905 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
Why Epson CX4905 stops printing
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson CX4905 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson CX4905. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson CX4905
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for CX4905 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson CX4905 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson CX4905.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson CX4905 is not detected
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
