Epson Artisan 800 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson Artisan 800 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
What the Epson Artisan 800 service message means
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson Artisan 800 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.

Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for Artisan 800 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson Artisan 800 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson Artisan 800.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson Artisan 800 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Install the original Epson driver for Artisan 800; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
Does Epson Artisan 800 need service mode?
