Canon MP260 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
Understanding the Canon MP260 ink absorber warning
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon MP260 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MP260. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MP260
- Turn the printer off.

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MP260 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Connect Canon MP260 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
