Epson TX405 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson TX405 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
Before resetting Epson TX405
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson TX405 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson TX405. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson TX405
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for TX405 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson TX405 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson TX405.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson TX405 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for TX405; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

Does Epson TX405 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
Can I reset Epson TX405 over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
