Understanding the Epson ET-2860 waste ink warning
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson ET-2860 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-2860. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-2860 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-2860 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-2860.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-2860 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Install the original Epson driver for ET-2860; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
