Epson XP-230 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson XP-230 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
Before resetting Epson XP-230
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson XP-230 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-230. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-230

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-230 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-230 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-230.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-230 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-230; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
