Why Epson SX409 stops printing
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson SX409 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson SX409. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson SX409
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for SX409 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson SX409 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson SX409.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson SX409 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.

No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.

No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
