Epson RX585 may refuse new print jobs after estimating that the waste ink pads have reached their service limit. Wic Reset Connect can reset the software counter after the printer is prepared correctly.
Why the ink pad counter blocks Epson RX585
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson RX585 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson RX585. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson RX585
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for RX585 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson RX585 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson RX585.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson RX585 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Install the original Epson driver for RX585; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does Epson RX585 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
Can I reset Epson RX585 over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
