Epson R2000 Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson R2000 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
Why Epson R2000 stops printing
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson R2000 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson R2000. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson R2000
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for R2000 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson R2000 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson R2000.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson R2000 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Install the original Epson driver for R2000; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
Epson R2000 reset FAQ
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
Does Epson R2000 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
