Epson K105 Reset Waste Ink Counter
If your Epson K105 has stopped with an ink pad or service-life warning, the printer may have reached its waste ink counter limit. This model-specific guide explains what the message means and how to complete the reset with Wic Reset Connect.
What the Epson K105 service message means
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson K105 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson K105. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson K105
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for K105 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson K105 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson K105.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson K105 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

Can I reset Epson K105 over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
Does Epson K105 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
