Canon MG5450 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon MG5450 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
What the Canon MG5450 service message means
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon MG5450 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG5450. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG5450
- Turn the printer off.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG5450 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon MG5450 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
