Canon MB5440 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
The waste ink counter inside Canon MB5440
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon MB5440 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MB5440. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MB5440
- Turn the printer off.

- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.

- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
