Canon MB2043 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon MB2043 can stop printing when its internal ink absorber counter reaches a programmed threshold. Follow the model-specific preparation below before using Wic Reset Connect.
What stops Canon MB2043 from printing
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon MB2043 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MB2043. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MB2043
- Turn the printer off.

Connect Canon MB2043 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MB2043 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Connect Canon MB2043 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.

Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
