Canon MX535 can lock printing when the waste ink (ink absorber) counter hits a predefined threshold. This guide explains how to reset it.

During head cleaning, surplus ink is routed to internal absorber pads. Canon MX535 monitors this via a counter and can lock printing at a threshold.

What You May Notice

Once the counter is cleared, Canon MX535 should exit the locked state and printing should resume normally.

Treat the reset as a maintenance step. If your printer has extremely high usage, consider cleaning/replacing absorber pads to avoid overflow.

If your model does not show a service mode section, it means no matching procedure was found for its series.

Does reset clean the absorber pads?

No. It resets the counter (software). Pads may still require physical maintenance in high-usage cases.
