Canon MB5420 Ink Absorber Full Reset
If your Canon MB5420 suddenly refuses to print and shows a maintenance or service warning, the ink absorber counter may have reached its limit.
Ink absorber pads store waste ink during normal operation. Canon firmware tracks this using a software counter and may stop printing when it reaches the limit.
This page is prepared for Canon MB5420. Service mode instructions are shown only when a matching series procedure is known.
What You May Notice
- ‘Ink Absorber Full’ / ‘Service Required’ message
- Support/service code (varies by series)
- Printing blocked after cleaning cycles
- Reset required to continue printing
Reset the Ink Absorber Counter
After service mode is enabled (if required), the waste ink counter can be reset using a supported reset procedure/software.
Before You Continue
Treat the reset as a maintenance step. If your printer has extremely high usage, consider cleaning/replacing absorber pads to avoid overflow.
