Canon TS8340 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon TS8340 can stop printing when its internal ink absorber counter reaches a programmed threshold. Follow the model-specific preparation below before using Wic Reset Connect.
Why Canon TS8340 reports an absorber error
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon TS8340 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TS8340. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TS8340
- Turn the printer off.

Prepare the printer

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TS8340 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TS8340 is not detected
- Connect Canon TS8340 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
