Canon MP486 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon MP486 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
Understanding the Canon MP486 ink absorber warning
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon MP486 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MP486. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MP486
- Turn the printer off.

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.

- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
