Canon G4900 Ink Absorber Full Reset

Understanding the Canon G4900 ink absorber warning
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon G4900 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.

How to enter service mode on Canon G4900
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon G4900

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G4900 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G4900 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Connect Canon G4900 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
