Epson XP-830 Reset Waste Ink Counter

The problem

Why Epson XP-830 stops printing

The printer protects against possible ink overflow by monitoring an internal service counter. On Epson XP-830, reaching the threshold can trigger an ink pad warning and block further jobs.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-830. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson XP-830

The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for XP-830 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson XP-830 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-830.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: After the program confirms completion, close it, turn Epson XP-830 off for about 10 seconds and switch it on again. The maintenance lock should be cleared.
If Epson XP-830 is not detected
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
  • Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
  • Install the original Epson driver for XP-830; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
