Epson R210 Reset Waste Ink Counter

When Epson R210 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.

The problem

Before resetting Epson R210

Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson R210 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson R210. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson R210

The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for R210 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson R210 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson R210.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: After the program confirms completion, close it, turn Epson R210 off for about 10 seconds and switch it on again. The maintenance lock should be cleared.
If Epson R210 is not detected
  • Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
  • Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
