The problem

Why Epson ME-80W stops printing

Epson ME-80W uses stored counter data to estimate absorber usage. The estimate may reach its limit before the pads appear completely saturated, but physical maintenance should still be considered.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ME-80W. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson ME-80W

Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for ME-80W and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson ME-80W to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ME-80W.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: After the program confirms completion, close it, turn Epson ME-80W off for about 10 seconds and switch it on again. The maintenance lock should be cleared.
If Epson ME-80W is not detected
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
  • Install the original Epson driver for ME-80W; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?

No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
