An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson L455 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.

Reset the counter in Epson L455
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for L455 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson L455 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L455.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson L455 is not detected
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
