The problem

What the Epson L4260 service message means

Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson L4260 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L4260. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson L4260

Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for L4260 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson L4260 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L4260.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: When the success message appears, restart Epson L4260. Allow Windows to detect the printer again before sending a test page.
If Epson L4260 is not detected
  • Install the original Epson driver for L4260; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
